Ms. Sia Anase Shayo is an Assistant Manager at the Bank of Tanzania, with extensive experience in macroeconomic policy, public debt management, and financial analysis. She has played a key role in providing policy-oriented advice on national debt and the country’s debt sustainability, as well as in aligning borrowing strategies with the country’s economic objectives. Her expertise also includes monetary policy formulation, and financial and macroeconomic data analysis. From 2014 to 2017, Ms. Shayo was seconded to the IMF Resident Representative Office in Dar es Salaam as an Economist, where she contributed to macroeconomic surveillance and policy engagement. Before joining the Bank of Tanzania in 2006, she served in various roles at the National Insurance Corporation, where she was employed from 1996. Ms. Shayo holds a Master’s Degree in Economics of Development from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague (now the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam), and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam. She has completed specialized professional training in debt management, debt sustainability analysis, financial programming and policies, reserve assets management, monetary and exchange rate policy, money markets, financial system stability, macro-prudential supervision, and fiscal analysis. |
